-  Ohio University President Roderick McDavis was on “The Partyline” on 970 WATH-AM Thursday morning with hosts Dave Palmer and Ray Wagner.  The first 15 minutes were spent talking athletics, in particular the new money allocated to the department in the 2010 fiscal year.  It’s definitely worth a listen.

-  IUPUI’s contest against Ohio in hoops this fall marks another game for Jaguars head coach Ron Hunter against the Bobcats.  Hunter played at Miami (OH) in the mid-80’s along with Ron Harper.  He went to three straight NCAA Tournaments in his four years in Oxford, and later spent one season as an assistant with the Redhawks.  He was 3-6 lifetime as a player against the Green and White and 1-2 in his lone season (93-94) under Herb Sendek as an assistant.  Hunter is also the man responsible for raising money for Samaritan’s Feet by having coaches go shoeless on the sidelines.

-  Marc Krauss is hitting .298 with the Single A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.  In 16 games, he has eight RBIs—five of which have come over his last three contests.  The former Bobcat has yet to go deep and has struck out 11 times, but has consistently been in the middle of South Bend’s lineup.
